What I did on my vacation

We were off work last week doing work around the house. In between chores and projects, I spent some time crafting. I am really enjoying crocheting. I’m getting more confident in my skills. I participated in a mystery crochet-along. The parts of the crochet pattern came out every other day. At the end we had a finished product. Here’s some pictures of the crafts I worked on this week.

Hopefully I’ll be back to regular posts this week.

Doodle Challenge Day 11

Today’s doodle mixes pencil and ink on mixed media paper. I shaded the butterfly with a No. 2 pencil. The outlines and lettering were done with a .08 micro liner. The pink background was done with a Dollar Tree gel pen. It is no surprise that I call this doodle Fly Free.

I hope you are all well and enjoying doodling.

Doodle Challenge Day 10

I don’t know if it is still popular but a few years ago hand lettered sayings on book pages were a big think. I always liked how they looked. I thought I might try a doodle on a book page.

Today’s doodle is a Celtic lot on a book about Celtic lore. This one was a challenge due to how intertwined the knot is.

What would you like to see drawn on a book page? Maybe you would like to do a book page doodle and share it with us? I hope you do.

Doodle Challenge Day 9

You do not need expensive or special tools to doodle. This doodle is done with a regular No. 2 pencil on a post-it note. It is a 3D twisty heart that I call Love in 3D.

In the past I have been known to doodle on my desk calendar, my arm, and even my pant leg.

Where have you doodled? What simple tools have you used? Share your story.

Doodle Challenge Day 8

For today’s doodle I tried a technique I saw on Pinterest. Using torn paper to make the outlines of mountains. I added some water, a rocky beach and some palm trees. I enjoyed making this one.

What kind of doodle will tomorrow bring? If you have a suggestion, I’d love to hear it. Write it in the comments. Happy doodling.

Doodle Challenge – Day 7

My doodle for day 7 illustrates another way to draw. I’m learning how to use Procreate on my iPad. I drew this gnome using several different brushes in the Procreate app. The hat was done with a textured brush. Doodling doesn’t have to be on paper. You can create electronic doodles too.

Have you tried any drawing apps? What is your favorite? Please, share your work.

Doodle Challenge -Day 6

Connections Day 6

Today’s doodle is simple, yet profound. I call it Connections. We have so many connections. Family, friends, co-workers, grocery store checkers, mail delivery people -how many people do we connect with daily? Sadly, it is less due to Covid.

Think of your connections and create a doodle that expresses that connection.. I hope you will share it with us.
